Doug, is an American who has been living in the UK for the past 17 years. Starting his career with his first paying gig over 35 years ago (that $15 bought lunch for the band). He has also been involved with the technical side of things for just as long, starting with lighting and sound for his High School's plays. Before heading off to Uni, Doug worked as a guitar/backline tech for local band New Alliance (who later signed with Interscope as Love Nut) Training in music with recording engineering at UNC-Asheville helped prepare him for FOH duties at a local venue where he also booked the entertainment.
Athens, GA, became his next home where eventually worked with internationally touring band the Vigilantes of Love as the TM, Backline Tech, Merch, and part time musician. When not on the road he was driving a dump truck, doing FOH duties and performing in various bands. Later moving to Atlanta, GA, Doug worked at several venues from Rock to Acoustic doing FOH and continued to perform in various local and regional bands. He also added the Derek Trucks Band to his list of guitar/backline tech duties. It is at this time that Doug also did corporate work for Active Lighting and Sound, covering many local engagements as well as being the lead tech on a national promotional tour. After suggesting to one of his bands that they play some shows in England, they booked the tour and Doug met his wife. A year later, after moving to the UK , getting married, and continuing with performing he started and helped run a business that manufactured products for the recording and Hi-Fi enthusiast market. Doug left this company a few years ago and has focused on performing, crew work, and getting back into the music industry full time.
